This year marks the 30th edition of the Chestnut Festival in Baia Mare, taking place from 19-21 September 2025. Celebrating three decades of tradition and community spirit, the anniversary edition will feature a special format blending classic highlights-such as the opening parade, artisan and traditional product fairs, museum exhibitions, theatre performances, and a variety of concerts-with new, spectacular moments for all ages.
On this occasion, the 1st TIMBERHAUS Summit in Baia Mare invites local and regional actors to explore the climate-smart use of wood in the construction sector. The event will bring together local and regional public authorities, private sector representatives, professional and cultural associations, educational and research institutions, and NGOs for a two-day programme of presentations and interactive sessions. Together, TIMBERHAUS aims to spark collaboration and ideas around the climate-smart use of wood and to explore the historical significance of wood in Maramureș and Baia Mare, the current political and development landscape, and future directions for advancing climate-smart forestry and construction practices in the region.
