Berlin is one of the project’s partner cities that will demonstrate TIMBERHAUS’ solutions. Berlin owns around 29,000 ha of forest area (16,000 ha of which is within the city boundaries, and 12,500 ha in the neighbouring state of Brandenburg).
Role in TIMBERHAUS
Through TIMBERHAUS, Berlin strives for sustainable construction and renovation based on a circular economy and the use of renewable raw materials. The city also aims to develop further measures to promote timber construction.
